What a Day!

Photos in reverse chronological order. Tianjin Airport from Highway, Hong Kong from the air, arrival aircraft at Hong Kong gate with mountains behind, and Manila, Philippines skyline from airport lounge.

Finally made it to my destination, The Renaissance Hotel in Tianjin. My odyssey from start to finish was as follows. Charlotte to Detroit, Detroit to Tokyo, Tokyo to Manila, End of Day One. Manila to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Tianjin, China. The trip was designed of economy and not shortest distance.

Actually, everything has gone smoothly enough. I have concluded, I like flying business class. More room and good service from flight attendants.

Getting through, Hong Kong was a challenge. I flew in on Cathay Pacific and out on Air China. Well I had go through customs to get my check luggage, and then re-enter the airport security to check my luggage into the other airline. All in a multi-leveled airport with trams and some very nice ladies in light blue jackets that help the lost ones. I made it through that maze with time to spare. And after it all the plane left a little late due to loading cargo on it.
