Nice Hotel
I am staying at the Davis Hotel in Bangkok. It is a five star hotel in the city. They originally gave me a smoking room, then I asked for a change. They put me in a suite. There is a kitchenette, sitting room, bedroom, and a bath with a large tub and shower. Very nice indeed.
I need to take a few photos of the room. Included is a better view of the buildings from my room. Here are a few pictures outside at the front. It is about 8 AM and the traffic is not too bad. At night it seems like a parking lot. The city was not made for so many cars.
Last night, we went to a Thai restaurant, Baan Khanitha, and had a good meal. We first had a variety of diced items to be put in a small leaf and eaten as an appetizer. (lime, shrimp, spring onion, nuts) The the first course was a roasted chicken pieces wrapped in banana leaves. Just eat the chicken not the leaves. And spring rolls with slice cucumbers on the side.
Then came the main course. A whole steamed fish (did not ID fish, it was tasty). There was a stir fry chicken dish with some atomic peppers in it. (Good but beware the peppers). Also, a green curry sauce with prawn (really big shrimp, sorry an oxymoron)to be serve on a white rice.
Then dessert was a sweet banana cooked with coconut juice. Good and not too sweet. Overall it was in a old Thai house. Good restaurant. 4 stars ****
