TV Reception - Hickory, NC

I use a chimney mounted antenna connected to a HDTV. An antenna rotor is needed to receive more stations. The only network not readily available is WCCB - FOX. When I upgrade my antenna, I may be able to receive the station. Go to http://www.dtv.gov/, there is alot of information there.

Virtual Channel - WBTV is know as channel 3.
(Digital Channel) - WBTV is broadcast on UHF channel 23
HD = HIGH DEFINITION
SD = STANDARD DEFINITION
LP = Low power analog transmission
IND. = Independent station

Here is my lineup.
3.1 (23.1) WBTV-HD - CBS
3.2 (23.2) WBTV-SD - same programing as primary channel
6.1 (42.1) WSOC - ABC translator W42DR-D in Connelly Springs
6.2 (42.2) WAXN - IND. translator W42DR-D in Connelly Springs
14.1 (40.1) WHKY - IND.
17.1 (17.1) WUNE - UNC-K KIDS CHANNEL
17.2 (17.2) WUNE - UNC-HD
17.3 (17.3) WUNE - UNC-NC North Carolina themed shows.
24 low power analog - WLNN-LP - America One - Boone
36.1 (22.1) WCNC - NBC
36.2 (22.2) WCNC - WeatherPlus - video forecasts, local temps, 5 day forecasts
46.1 (47.1) WJZY-HD - TheCW
46.2 (47.2) WJZY- SD same programing as primary channel
49 low power analog - WTBL-LP Lenoir same as 24

Channels received intermittently. WCCB-FOX 18 (27), WNSC-S.C. PBS 30 (15) and WMYT - MyTV12 55 (39). These may be seen with a better antenna.

Antennas - An UHF will work since there are no VHF stations close. ChannelMaster makes a 4228-HD which I think would work well. It is not huge and has a reported range of 60 miles. When I upgrade, it will be to this antenna. In our area an antenna needs an amplifier, which boosts the signals. http://www.channelmaster.com/product-overview.php?proID=34&catID=33#

Good luck,
Scott
