Day Trip - Part 3 Odds and ends.
Here are a few more pictures from my walk around the cathedral. To the south were neighborhoods and a college. One block was a group of flower shops. Here is a photo of a cleaning bicycle cart. There would be someone sweeping the streets with these vehicles.
Then to the north of the church is a shopping area. The street is restricted to foot traffic. Except for some small buses carrying about eight people. There were a lot of people.
Many of the stores repeated throughout the long L shaped area. MacDonald's are about every block. They were popular and crowded. They offered corn or fries as a side to a sandwich. The Big Mac is on the menu, but it appeared fish and chicken sandwiches are the preference here.
I asked my colleague Fisher and he told me this area was very popular. It is also a very expensive place. I agree, when converting and comparing prices, they appeared to be the same or higher than things at home. But I am no expert shopper.
