Lunch Time
The can't eat this much everyday. There are no fat Chinese people. I have not seen any. Jerry and our driver Meka had lunch at restaurant. I was up for Chinese food. But I did request a non spicy menu. We were the first patrons at the restaurant. The lady unlocked the doors for us.
Jerry and Meka discussed at length what to order. Even with a picture menu, I was unable to discern much of what was offered. Well they kept talking to the waitress and pointing at things. I had no idea what exactly they order. I even asked and could not determine what was coming. So, I just sat back and waited to see.
First came a Rice noodle soup with chicken. Rice noodles are a clear noodle and it is kind of slippery. But it is edible. Then came a plate of steam broccoli. Good.
Then came a plate of slice beef and something like summer sausage with this clear jello looking stuff. Stayed away from the clear jello looking stuff. Yuck.
They also served two flat breads. One appeared to have vegetables in it. The other some meat. It was OK.
Then came a plate of beef and peppers. Yummy, Yummy. I thought it was over, but no. They brought a dumpling with beef. Good stuff. Be better with a little ketchup, but most things do get better with ketchup. Then a chicken and vegetable dish with nuts in it. It was really good. Note to self, Add nuts to stir fry at home.
All this food is washed down with tea. The tea is some dirty water with little taste. I guess expectation for tea are low here in China. If I drink tea, then ice it, load it with sugar, and throw a lemon in it. Hello Wendy's.
With some discretion on my part, I will include what happens to all this food in a future post. The WC.
